DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Vehicle Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Inspect motorcycles and tuk-tuks to identify mechanical, electrical, and operational faults.
- Use diagnostic tools and visual inspection to pinpoint issues.
- Recommend solutions and estimate repair times.
Repairs & Maintenance
- Carry out engine repairs, gearbox adjustments, and brake system maintenance.
- Replace or repair worn-out parts, including tires, chains, spark plugs, filters, and batteries.
- Perform routine services such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups.
- Adjust carburetors, brakes, clutches, and other components to ensure smooth operation.
Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections to prevent breakdowns and prolong vehicle life.
- Maintain service logs for all vehicles handled.
- Advise management or owners on vehicle conditions and necessary preventive measures.
Workshop Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Follow safety protocols when handling tools, machinery, and hazardous materials.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of parts, lubricants, and tools.
Inventory & Parts Management
- Monitor spare parts stock and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and avoid wastage.
Team Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete larger repair projects.
- Provide clear reports on vehicle condition, repair progress, and parts used.
- Train or guide junior technicians or apprentices if required.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical work, particularly with motorcycles and tuk-tuks
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of engine systems, transmission, brakes, and electrical components of two- and three-wheeled vehicles
