DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook deli items including meats, salads, sandwiches, and ready-to-eat meals according to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli station and kitchen areas.
  • Ensure all food items are stored and handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently (e.g. slicers, ovens, fryers).
  • Maintain accurate labeling and dating of all prepared foods.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service by responding to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Adhere to all health, hygiene, and safety standards as outlined by the supermarket and local health authorities.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Certificate in Food Production or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a cook in a deli, restaurant, or commercial kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation standards, and kitchen safety procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
