DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank and ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Support the finance team in daily bookkeeping and data entry into the accounting system.
- Help with invoicing, payment processing, and following up on outstanding receivables.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in preparation of statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, SHIF, NSSF).
- Participate in internal audits and assist with implementing audit recommendations.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as required.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve accuracy.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of post-graduation work experience in an accounting or finance role
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
