DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define the procurement strategy :
- Develop and implement a centralized purchasing policy for all production units.
- Identify opportunities for pooling and standardizing purchasing.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify strategic suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, payment terms, delivery times, and terms.
- Implement a supplier performance management system.
Planning and Coordination:
- Work closely with the logistics, production, and finance departments to plan supply needs.
- Ensure the availability of materials and equipment according to production forecasts.
Order Tracking:
- Oversee the issuance of purchase orders, delivery tracking, and dispute management.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal procedures.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor purchasing performance indicators (costs, lead times, quality).
- Produce regular reports for management.
- Management:
- Supervise a team of buyers or assistants if necessary.
- Develop the team's skills and ensure efficient distribution of tasks.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Master's Degree in Supply chain, Business Administration or any related field
- Over 10years proven experience in the international agribusiness sector
- Knowledge of the procurement procedures of donors such as European Union (EU), USAID and others is a must
- Knowledge of practices and cultures in East Africa is an added advantage
- Proven experience working with ERP system. Knowledge of ODOO is an added advantage
- Fluency in French and English
