DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Planning and Scheduling:

  • Developing and implementing production schedules to meet demand while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Assessing project and resource requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials.

Operations Management:

  • Ensuring smooth operation of refining, extraction, and packaging processes.
  • Monitoring and optimizing production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and reducing waste.
  • Implementing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Maintaining accurate production records and using them to improve processes.

Quality Control:

  • Monitoring product quality and adhering to industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Implementing quality control procedures at different stages of production.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) principles.
  • Implementing and enforcing workplace safety protocols.
  • Ensuring proper handling and disposal of chemicals and byproducts.

Resource Management:

  • Managing raw material procurement and inventory levels.
  • Optimizing energy and resource consumption.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Staff Management:

  • Supervising and leading production staff, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Training employees on hygiene, safety procedures, and equipment handling.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback and training.

 

Cost Control:

  • Controlling production costs and minimizing waste.
  • Preparing and managing the production budget.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Working with cross-functional teams to address production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and technological advancements in edible oil refining.
  • Implementing and managing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to ISO standards and implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • To implement appropriate and agreed upon reports to senior management and line staff for information

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Food Science
  • Over 6 years proven experience in refinery production management.
  • Training in Edible oil refining Technology will be an added advantage
  • Technical knowledge and hands on experience in edible oil refinery in the same capacity
