DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Define project work breakdown structure (WBS), activities, durations, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Integrate planning with cost and resource control systems for effective project monitoring.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and identify deviations.
  • Coordinate with site teams and project managers to gather real-time updates on performance.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive project reports, including S-curves, progress updates, delay analysis, look-ahead plans, and recovery schedules.

Cost & Resource Planning

  • Plan and load project resources (labor, equipment, and materials) in the schedule.
  • Assist in developing project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Monitor resource utilization and update forecasts accordingly.

Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align the schedule with the project execution plan.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to represent planning and project control aspects.
  • Coordinate with quantity surveyors and procurement teams for input on materials and costs.

 

Change Management & Risk Analysis

  • Evaluate schedule impacts due to changes or variations and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in risk assessment and assist in contingency planning.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of planning experience in the construction industry. Experience in marine construction (e.g., quay walls, dredging, reclamation) is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and project control metrics
  • MS Excel and report preparation proficiency
