DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Head teacher in the strategic planning and operational management of the school.
- Foster a positive school culture that encourages collaboration and high expectations among staff and students.
- Support the development and implementation of school policies, procedures, and programs.
- Oversee the curriculum delivery, ensuring it meets the educational standards and caters to the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with subject leaders to monitor and evaluate teaching and learning practices, particularly in Mathematics and Science.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies and support staff development through training and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in the recruitment, induction, and performance management of teaching staff.
- Mentor and support teachers, providing guidance and resources to enhance their teaching practices.
- Encourage a culture of continuous professional development among staff.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Address student behavioral issues and implement strategies to support positive student conduct.
- Work closely with parents and the community to foster strong relationships and enhance student support.
- Ensure adherence to school policies and compliance with the standards set by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Assist in budget preparation and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of school funds.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Head teacher or in a similar leadership role.
- P1 Teaching Certificate (minimum) and TSC registration.
- Must have a background in teaching Mathematics and Science subjects.
