DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection & Cleaning
- Gather data from internal and external sources to create comprehensive datasets for analysis.
- Clean and pre-process data to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis (data wrangling, missing data handling, etc.).
- Work with business stakeholders to identify data requirements and ensure data collection aligns with business needs.
Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Use statistical methods and techniques to perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), identifying trends, correlations, and outliers.
- Conduct hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other advanced analytics to generate insights that drive decision-making.
- Provide actionable insights from data findings to improve business operations and strategies.
Reporting & Visualization
- Create clear, visually engaging, and interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to visualize key metrics.
- Develop and maintain automated reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for various departments.
- Regularly present findings to management and other stakeholders in a concise and understandable format.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with other teams (marketing, operations, finance, etc.) to understand their data needs and deliver timely and relevant analysis.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure that the data infrastructure is properly set up and aligned with analysis requirements.
- Help business units interpret data findings and ensure that recommendations are implemented effectively.
Data Management & Governance
- Maintain data quality and consistency by implementing and following best practices for data management and governance.
- Ensure compliance with internal data security standards and any relevant legal/regulatory data handling guidelines.
- Continuously monitor the data quality and make improvements where necessary to prevent discrepancies.
Continuous Improvement & Learning
- Stay up to date with the latest data analysis trends, techniques, and best practices.
- Actively participate in training sessions and contribute to the evolution of analytical tools and methodologies within the organization.
- Look for ways to automate repetitive tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years working as a data analyst or in a related analytical role, demonstrating an ability to analyze large datasets and draw actionable insights
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and R
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with data management tools and databases (e.g., relational databases, ETL tools)
- Experience with statistical analysis and techniques (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing)
