DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Supervision & Inspection:

  • Monitor day-to-day construction activities across residential developments.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with approved architectural and engineering plans.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of materials, workmanship, installations, and completed work.

Quality Control & Assurance:

  • Verify that materials used conform to specified standards and are approved prior to use.
  • Identify defects or deviations from specifications and recommend corrective measures.
  • Ensure that construction practices meet local building codes, safety standards, and client specifications.

Compliance & Safety Monitoring:

  • Ensure all contractors adhere to safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
  • Report any unsafe practices or conditions on site to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor implementation of health and safety plans on-site.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed site records, including daily logs, photos, progress reports, and inspection outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the project manager or property developer highlighting progress, delays, defects, and recommended actions.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve site issues.
  • Attend site meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project targets are met.
  • Serve as the main point of contact on-site for quality assurance issues.

Project Support:

  • Provide input during planning stages to identify potential construction or compliance challenges.
  • Review and verify contractor submissions, including samples, shop drawings, and method statements.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a Clerk of Works, ideally on residential construction projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local building standards, construction methods, and statutory regulations.
  • Experience in multi-unit residential developments is a strong advantage.
