DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the company’s processes in achieving and maintaining operational excellence as guided by applicable FSSC Scheme and ISO standards series requirements – ISO 9001, ISO 14001& ISO 45001
- Ensure all elements of FSSC, QMS, EMS and OHS are clearly understood, effectively implemented and maintained within all business processes
- Provide technical support to top management and line managers
- Custodian of the organization management systems related document and retained information.
- Define and manage efficient external and internal auditing systems.
- Develop annual audit and inspections plans and communicate to function managers.
- Submit corrective action plans to respective audit bodies, regulatory bodies and customers.
- Provide technical support in gaps closure across all audited business processes.
- Liaise with certification bodies, regulatory bodies, other interested parties in matters related to certification audits, statutory audits/inspections and customer audits.
- Determine systems statutory training and awareness requirements and communicate.
- Actively participate in selected business improvement committees.
- Lead sustainability (ESG) initiatives and drive continuous improvement in environmental and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with evolving legal, regulatory, and certification requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain risk-based management systems that align with business objectives.
- Engage cross-functional teams to promote a strong quality and sustainability culture within the organization.
- Keep abreast of the changes in all systems related to applicable legislation and maintain an updated legal register
- Prepare and present weekly/ monthly reports to senior management
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology or Environmental Science, Health and Safety or a related field
- Registered with NEMA.
- At least 5 years’ experience in systems management in a manufacturing company
- Knowledge in BCORP, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/EA), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Sustainability (ESG), and legal compliance.
- Lead Auditor training is required.
- Experience in FSSC, LQMS, and QMS is an added advantage.
- Understanding of risk management, corporate governance, and business continuity planning.
- Certificate in NEBOSH training will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of EMCA and related regulations
