PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning and Objective Setting:

• Establish clear and measurable daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives in alignment with overall company goals.
• Communicate these objectives effectively to all production employees, ensuring understanding and buy-in.
• Monitor progress against objectives and adjust strategies as needed to maintain optimal performance.

Workflow Management and Scheduling:

• Organize and optimize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing detailed production schedules.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks or delays in the production process.

Employee Leadership and Development:

• Oversee and coach production employees, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
• Identify training needs and facilitate ongoing employee development.

Equipment Maintenance and Safety:

• Ensure the safe and efficient use of all production equipment.
• Develop and implement a schedule for regular preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed.

Quality Control and Output Monitoring:

• Conduct thorough checks of production output against established specifications and quality standards.
• Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
• Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and effectively.

 Performance Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and submit detailed reports on production performance, progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyze production data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Process Improvement and Efficiency:

• Identify and analyse inefficiencies in production processes and propose innovative solutions for improvement.
• Implement and monitor the effectiveness of process improvements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.

Employee Training and Onboarding:

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new employees on safe work practices, equipment operation, and company procedures.
• Ensure all employees are properly trained and certified to perform their assigned tasks.

Safety Compliance and Enforcement:

• Enforce strict adherence to all safety guidelines, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field within the food industry
• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, Quality Control (QC) Supervisor, or similar role within the food industry.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
