PHARMACIST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Medication Dispensing:

• Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
• Interpret and verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.

Medication Management:

• Conduct medication reviews and provide counseling to patients on their medication regimens.
• Identify and resolve potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and provide support to improve outcomes.
• Provide professional advice on over the counter medication.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies.
• Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of medications.

Customer Service:

• Provide exceptional customer service and build rapport with patients.
• Address patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated on the latest pharmaceutical developments and best practices.
• Participate in continuing education programs to maintain professional licensure.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma/Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
• 1-2 years of professional experience as a pharmacist, preferably in a retail or healthcare setting
• Valid practicing license to work as a pharmacist in Kenya
• Strong medication management and dispensing skills
• Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
• Ability to maintain professional conduct in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with patients and colleagues
