DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring the proper functioning of all machinery and equipment used in manufacturing.
- Performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions, diagnosing the root cause of the problem and implementing effective repair solutions.
- Developing and implementing scheduled maintenance programs to proactively address potential equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery.
- creating maintenance schedules, conducting regular inspections, and managing preventive maintenance tasks such as rewiring, lubrication, cleaning, and alignment.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment history, maintenance logs, and repair records.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities.
- Conducting risk assessments, implementing safety procedures, and training maintenance staff on safe work practices.
- Identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement in maintenance operations.
- Collaborating with production teams and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimized disruptions to production schedules.
- Training, mentoring and managing maintenance technicians.
- Being available to respond to emergency maintenance situations outside of regular working hours, such as equipment breakdowns during production runs.
- Participating in budget planning and cost control efforts related to maintenance activities.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- A BSc/MSc Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechatronic Engineering
- At least five years of relevant experience in engineering
- Having worked in a plastic products manufacturing factory is an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in maintaining and managing Hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
- Excellent experience and knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical circuits.
- Motivated and a self-starter
- Attention to detail and a team player
- Ability to make quick decisions and work in a fast-paced environment
