JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for HORECA is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities within the Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering (HORECA) sector. This role involves building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the hospitality and food service industry, promoting products or services, and driving sales to meet organizational goals. The BDM will focus on growing market share, enhancing client satisfaction, and ensuring a competitive edge in the HORECA industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- New Business Acquisition:
- Identify and target potential clients within the HORECA sector, including hotels, restaurants, catering companies, bars, and event venues.
- Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new business and expanding market share.
- Conduct market research to understand trends, competitors, and opportunities in the HORECA industry.
- Sales & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the HORECA industry, including owners, managers, chefs, and purchasing teams.
- Present and sell company products or services to new and existing clients, tailoring offerings to meet their specific needs.
- Develop and negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service terms to close deals.
- Provide ongoing support to clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
- Market Expansion:
- Identify new opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the HORECA sector.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate new markets and increase sales within the HORECA vertical.
- Product Knowledge & Consultation:
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s product offerings, including any unique features, benefits, or services for the HORECA market.
- Act as a consultant to clients by providing advice on how the company’s products or services can help optimize their business operations, improve quality, or reduce costs.
- Sales Targets & Reporting:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs.
- Track and analyse sales performance and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Submit regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions with clients using CRM tools.
- Brand Representation & Networking:
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand recognition and strengthen relationships with industry influencers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in the HORECA sector.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the HORECA or hospitality industry
- Experience with B2B sales, contract negotiation, and account management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to travel as required within the assigned region or territory.
