DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Control:
- Conduct regular and accurate stock audits to ensure consistency in inventory records.
- Investigate and report on any discrepancies or losses identified during stock counts.
- Implement strategies to minimize shrinkage and improve stock accuracy.
Loss Prevention:
- Supervise the store’s loss control activities, including monitoring security systems (CCTV, alarms).
- Identify high-risk areas in the store and recommend preventive measures to minimize loss.
- Collaborate with the security team to investigate theft, vandalism, or fraud, ensuring timely resolutions.
Training and Awareness:
- Train store staff on loss control procedures and practices.
- Educate employees on the importance of loss prevention and maintaining a safe environment.
- Ensure all staff are compliant with company policies on loss control.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular loss control reports to management.
- Document incidents of loss and action taken, ensuring that records are maintained accurately.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to management on improving loss control strategies.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure the store complies with legal and regulatory requirements related to security and loss control.
- Perform surveillance and regular checks on store entrances, exits, and storage areas.
- Ensure the safety and security of employees, customers, and property.
Investigations and Incident Handling:
- Lead investigations into internal and external theft, vandalism, and other incidents affecting company property.
- Take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary, in line with company policies.
- Work closely with law enforcement when required, to resolve criminal incidents.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Business Management, Loss Control, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a supermarket or retail environment.
- Loss Control/Prevention Certification or similar qualifications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle investigations professionally.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and loss prevention technologies.
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff members.
