DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in workforce planning and identifying staffing needs.
  • Coordinate the full recruitment cycle including job posting, shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
  • Prepare and issue employment contracts and onboarding documentation.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.

Employee Records & HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both in physical and digital formats.
  • Track and manage employee leave, attendance, and absence reports.
  • Ensure HR documentation is compliant with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all HR information and documents.

Training & Development

  • Identify staff training and development needs in collaboration with department heads.
  • Organize and deliver internal training sessions, workshops, and staff development programs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain training records and employee skill development profiles.

Performance Management

  • Support the performance appraisal process, ensuring timely completion and feedback.
  • Guide managers and staff on goal setting and performance improvement plans.
  • Track performance metrics and support the development of high-performing teams.

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Collect and verify monthly payroll inputs such as timesheets, leave balances, and allowances.
  • Liaise with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely salary disbursements.
  • Support administration of employee benefits including medical cover, pensions, and statutory deductions.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for staff queries related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Address employee grievances promptly and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through regular staff engagement.

Policy Implementation & Compliance

  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and enforcing HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and HR standards.
  • Prepare for and participate in HR audits and statutory inspections.

HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare regular HR reports on staff turnover, attendance, training, and recruitment.
  • Provide HR data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Track HR metrics and contribute to process improvement.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field. A finance background is highly desirable
  • 2+ years of relevant HR experience; prior experience with internal staff training is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
