DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and Serve Beverages: Prepare a wide variety of coffee beverages such as espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and more, ensuring consistency and quality with every cup. Prepare milkshakes, juices, and other specialty beverages as required.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers warmly, take orders efficiently, and provide them with information about the menu, helping to create an outstanding and personalized experience. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain High Standards of Hygiene and Cleanliness: Regularly clean and sanitize the coffee machines, blenders, workstations, and all equipment used to prepare beverages. Ensure that all health and safety standards are met to maintain a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other necessary ingredients or supplies. Report low stock levels to management and assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
  • Support the Team: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy periods. Help train and mentor new staff on the correct coffee-making techniques and customer service expectations.
  • Assist in Opening and Closing Duties: Assist with the setup of the cafe or coffee shop at the beginning of the day and help with closing duties, such as cleaning, securing equipment, and ensuring the premises are ready for the next service.
  • Engage in Promotions and Upselling: Recommend beverages or menu items to customers, especially during promotional periods. Upsell additional items like pastries, snacks, or side items to increase sales.
  • Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Follow company guidelines for beverage preparation, customer service, and safety. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the manager promptly.
  • Handle Special Requests: Be able to accommodate dietary restrictions or special requests, including vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free options for beverages and snacks.
  • Create a Welcoming Atmosphere: Help maintain a pleasant and relaxing ambiance for customers, ensuring that they feel welcome and valued. Assist in creating an inviting, clean, and orderly environment.

 

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Certificate or Diploma in Barista Course or related field
  • Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods, milkshake preparation, and juice making
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for coffee and beverages
