DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting Support:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Post transactions into accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Sage) and ensure their accuracy.
- Maintain a general ledger and ensure all entries are correctly recorded and up to date.
- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of detailed financial reports to support the management team in decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of all transactions, ensuring accurate and complete financial documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and withholding taxes.
Expense and Revenue Monitoring:
- Ensure that all expenses and revenue are properly classified and accurately reflected in the accounts.
- Monitor and track cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet operational needs.
- Assist in monitoring cost controls, providing regular reports on budget vs. actual performance.
Audit and Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and ensure that financial data is secure.
Payroll Administration:
- Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payment of salaries and benefits.
- Maintain records for all payroll transactions, including deductions and allowances.
Inventory and Asset Management:
- Assist in tracking and accounting for company assets, including depreciation.
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring they align with financial records, and assist with stock-taking procedures.
Customer and Vendor Liaison:
- Respond to inquiries from customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding account status, payment queries, and general financial matters.
- Assist in managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.
General Administrative Support:
- Assist in managing and maintaining financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
- Provide administrative support for senior management and the finance department as required.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA II or equivalent professional qualification
- 3-5 years of experience in a general accounting role, ideally within the hospitality sector or a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including Tally, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, and auditing.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
