TRUCK MECHANIC

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on heavy-duty trucks (engine, transmission, braking systems, etc.)
• Conduct routine maintenance and servicing (oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments)
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and make necessary repairs
• Ensure trucks comply with safety standards and road regulations
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
• Maintain detailed records of services and repairs
• Order and replace parts as needed
• Collaborate with other mechanics and truck drivers to ensure efficient workflow
• Test drive trucks after repairs to confirm the issues are resolved
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the garage

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Mechanics or related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Truck Mechanic or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty truck components
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
• Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance regulations
• Strong command of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking). Proficiency in French and/or Swahili is highly desirable.
• A valid passport for potential travel requirements.
