DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Target Achievement:
- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and take corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of sales representatives.
- Set sales goals and objectives for team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate sales updates, strategies, and best practices.
- Motivate and inspire the sales team to achieve peak performance.
- Manage team schedules, routes, and activities.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide development plans for team members.
Distribution and Coverage:
- Ensure effective distribution of the company’s products across all assigned channels (e.g., supermarkets, retail outlets, wholesalers).
- Expand market coverage by identifying and developing new distribution points.
- Monitor and optimize product availability and visibility at retail outlets.
- Ensure proper merchandising and shelf placement of products.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and retail partners.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate sales agreements and terms with customers.
- Identify customer needs and provide appropriate product solutions.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Collect and analyze sales data to track performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions.
- Prepare regular sales reports for management, including sales performance, market insights, and competitor analysis.
- Provide feedback to management on market conditions, product performance, and sales strategies.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels at retail outlets and ensure adequate supply to meet customer demand.
- Coordinate with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Minimize product wastage and ensure proper handling of inventory.
Promotional Activities:
- Plan and execute sales promotions and marketing activities to drive sales growth.
- Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities and recommend improvements.
- Ensure that promotional materials are properly displayed at retail outlets.
Compliance:
- Ensure that all sales activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, with a strong focus on the FMCG industry, and at least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of the local market and customer preferences
- Familiarity with sales management software and CRM systems
