DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Sales Growth

  • Proactively identify and prospect new clients within the assigned territory focusing on garages, workshops, industrial businesses, transport companies (PSV Saccos, logistics firms), and SMEs.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and expand market share.
  • Systematically map the territory to identify business clusters, prioritize high-potential leads, and manage the entire sales pipeline from initial contact to closing.

Client Relationship Management & Account Servicing

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers to ensure high retention rates and loyalty.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand clients' machinery, equipment, operational demands, and current lubrication challenges, recommending appropriate products and solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues or complaints by coordinating with the technical support or operations teams.

Product Expertise & Technical Consultation

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of various lubricant products (automotive engine oils, industrial oils, greases, coolants, specialty fluids), their technical specifications, and correct applications.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing basic technical guidance and conducting product demonstrations or small training sessions for client staff (e.g., mechanics, machine operators) on proper handling and application.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on competitor activities, market trends, and new products to help determine pricing strategies and identify opportunities for product or service improvements.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales forecasts, territory performance, and expenses to management.

Sales Administration & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate and timely sales quotations, proposals, contracts, and manage order submissions efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sales activities, client interactions, and pipelines using the company’s CRM system daily.
  • Ensure all sales operations comply with company policies, safety standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • A Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven working experience in the sales of lubricants, petroleum products, or gas distribution is essential
  • Demonstrated success in field sales and client relationship management, with a history of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Strong understanding of industrial and automotive lubricants and their applications
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasive communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software is an asset
