JOB SUMMARY
The New Product Development Officer will be responsible for driving the development of innovative products and related FMCG products from concept through to commercialization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in product development within the FMCG industry, particularly in food science or beverage-related fields, and possess a passion for crafting unique products that align with market trends and consumer demands.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development:
- Lead the conceptualization, formulation, and development of new tea products, from ideation to final product launch.
- Work closely with the R&D team to ensure product formulations meet quality, taste, and cost specifications.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align product development with market trends and consumer preferences.
- Develop product prototypes and test samples, refining formulations based on feedback and sensory evaluations.
Project Management:
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of product development projects.
- Track project milestones, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any challenges.
Compliance and Quality Control:
- Ensure all new products comply with relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality control procedures.
- Conduct quality checks and product testing to ensure consistency and product integrity.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure raw materials meet the company’s quality standards.
Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging ingredients, and consumer preferences to inform product innovation.
- Conduct competitor analysis and identify opportunities for new product offerings based on market gaps and consumer needs.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of product development processes, formulations, and testing.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, documenting project timelines, outcomes, and recommendations.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field is essential.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in product development within the FMCG industry, preferably in the food and beverage or tea sector.
- Proven experience in managing the end-to-end process of product development, from concept to commercialization.
- Familiarity with project management principles and tools is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market trends and consumer insights into actionable product ideas.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
