DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, finished goods, and competitor samples as per defined timelines.
- Perform surface, equipment, and environmental swabs and report findings promptly.
- Monitor and test water purification and processing systems to ensure water quality meets required standards.
- Assist in Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) by performing required microbial tests.
- Ensure incoming materials comply with company and regulatory specifications.
- Manage and control non-conforming raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Support investigations related to customer complaints, deviations, and non-conformance issues.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards across the entire production process.
- Assist in the training and instruction of production operators on hygiene, GMP, and quality control procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation (hard and soft copies) of all microbial activities, laboratory tests, and quality inspection results.
- Share microbial and quality reports within the required timelines.
- Ensure all QC documentation is completed and submitted by the end of every shift.
- Manage laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and inventory of consumables.
- Ensure proper implementation of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Housekeeping Practices within the laboratory.
- Oversee the housekeeping team to maintain hygienic conditions in QC and production-related areas.
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) across production and processing areas.
- Highlight areas of improvement within QC and production, and follow up to ensure closure of corrective actions.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field
- At least 1–3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing or laboratory environment (desired)
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, ISO standards, HACCP, and food safety regulations
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
