DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on all mechanical systems and equipment.
- Inspect machines to detect potential faults and take corrective action before breakdowns occur.
- Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and service records accurately.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems and machinery.
- Replace or refurbish defective components to restore functionality.
- Report major system failures to the HOD and recommend corrective measures.
Metal Fabrication and Welding
- Perform metal cutting, shaping, and welding for repairs or new installations.
- Fabricate mechanical parts, brackets, and supports as required.
- Ensure welding tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.
Daily Equipment Inspections
- Conduct daily operational checks on fridges, cold rooms, and boilers.
- Monitor performance parameters (temperature, pressure, etc.) to ensure proper functioning.
- Immediately report abnormal readings or system malfunctions to the HOD.
Maintenance of Industrial Kitchen Equipment
- Service and maintain industrial kitchen machines such as ovens, fryers, and dishwashers.
- Inspect and repair equipment to ensure safe and hygienic operation.
- Provide prompt response to maintenance requests from kitchen staff.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or near-miss incidents immediately.
Coordination and Reporting
- Work closely with the Mechanical HOD and other team members to plan and execute maintenance tasks.
- Provide regular updates on completed work, ongoing maintenance, and required spare parts.
- Maintain good communication and collaboration with other departments to support operations.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication
- Proficiency in welding and basic fabrication work
- Strong understanding of refrigeration and boiler systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and reporting skills
