DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Preventive Maintenance

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on all mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect machines to detect potential faults and take corrective action before breakdowns occur.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and service records accurately.

Troubleshooting and Repairs

  • Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems and machinery.
  • Replace or refurbish defective components to restore functionality.
  • Report major system failures to the HOD and recommend corrective measures.

Metal Fabrication and Welding

  • Perform metal cutting, shaping, and welding for repairs or new installations.
  • Fabricate mechanical parts, brackets, and supports as required.
  • Ensure welding tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.

 Daily Equipment Inspections

  • Conduct daily operational checks on fridges, cold rooms, and boilers.
  • Monitor performance parameters (temperature, pressure, etc.) to ensure proper functioning.
  • Immediately report abnormal readings or system malfunctions to the HOD.

Maintenance of Industrial Kitchen Equipment

  • Service and maintain industrial kitchen machines such as ovens, fryers, and dishwashers.
  • Inspect and repair equipment to ensure safe and hygienic operation.
  • Provide prompt response to maintenance requests from kitchen staff.

 

 

 

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or near-miss incidents immediately.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Work closely with the Mechanical HOD and other team members to plan and execute maintenance tasks.
  • Provide regular updates on completed work, ongoing maintenance, and required spare parts.
  • Maintain good communication and collaboration with other departments to support operations.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication
  • Proficiency in welding and basic fabrication work
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration and boiler systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and reporting skills
