JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance and Repair Technician will be responsible for the repair, servicing, and preventive maintenance of production machinery within the lubricant blending facility.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all plant equipment, including blending tanks, pumps, mixers, filling lines, conveyors, and packaging machinery, ensuring consistent and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation faults on production equipment; identify root causes and execute prompt corrective measures to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs in line with the plant’s maintenance schedule, ensuring equipment longevity, safety, and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate closely with production and quality assurance teams to coordinate machine availability, troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, and ensure production targets are achieved without compromising equipment integrity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation, including service logs, fault reports, parts replacements, and maintenance schedules, using CMMS or manual systems as applicable.
  • Monitor equipment performance trends to identify recurring issues, recommend process or design improvements, and assist in developing action plans to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Support the installation, alignment, calibration, and commissioning of new machinery, system upgrades, and auxiliary components, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Inspect and maintain lubrication systems, seals, gaskets, valves, and bearings to ensure proper functioning and prevent contamination or leaks in blending and filling operations.
  • Assist in inventory control of maintenance tools, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring availability of critical items for emergency repairs and planned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and environmental standards, including proper use of PPE, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols, and adherence to ISO or HSE requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas for process optimization, energy efficiency, and equipment upgrades to support plant reliability and cost reduction goals.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to operators and junior maintenance staff, promoting knowledge sharing and consistent application of maintenance best practices.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Proven hands-on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial production machines, particularly in lubricant blending, bottling, or manufacturing plants
  • Strong understanding of pumps, gear systems, conveyors, and filling machines (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic types)
  • Working knowledge of electrical and electronic controls, including sensors, PLC-based systems, and automation equipment
  • Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance
  • Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills
  • Commitment to safety procedures and adherence to maintenance best practices
