DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resource Operations & Administration

  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures in line with organizational objectives and Kenyan labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS and ensure data confidentiality.
  • Manage employee contracts, confirmations, renewals, promotions, transfers, and exits.
  • Oversee payroll inputs, benefits administration, leave management, and statutory compliance.

Recruitment & Talent Management

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes including workforce planning, job postings, shortlisting, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Support department heads in identifying staffing needs and succession planning.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and induction of new employees.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Guide and support supervisors and managers on performance management processes.
  • Coordinate performance appraisals and ensure timely evaluations.
  • Promote a positive work environment and resolve conflicts fairly and professionally.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs.
  • Support implementation of employee development and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and maintain training records.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Prepare HR reports, audits, and documentation as required by management or regulatory bodies.
  • Support implementation of health, safety, and welfare programs.

HR Leadership & Advisory

  • Provide HR guidance and support to management and staff.
  • Supervise junior HR staff or interns where applicable.
  • Contribute to strategic HR planning and organizational development initiatives.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and payroll processes.
