DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain skilled employees.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including manpower planning, job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Partner with departmental heads to identify staffing needs and succession plans.
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and develop annual training plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Coordinate internal and external training programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.
- Support leadership development and employee career growth initiatives.
Performance Management
- Implement and manage the performance appraisal system across all departments.
- Guide managers on setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and handling performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Monitor and report on employee performance trends.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues and grievances.
- Promote a positive work culture and maintain high levels of employee engagement.
- Advise management on disciplinary matters and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.
Compensation & Benefits Administration
- Manage payroll inputs, employee benefits, and statutory deductions in compliance with Kenyan regulations.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and support compensation reviews.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and HR documentation.
Compliance & Labor Law
- Ensure full compliance with Kenyan labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage labor audits and inspections.
Health, Safety & Welfare
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards within the manufacturing environment.
- Work closely with safety officers and management to promote workplace safety.
- Support implementation of wellness and employee welfare programs.
HR Reporting & Strategy
- Prepare HR reports on headcount, turnover, training, and compliance metrics.
- Contribute to organizational strategy by aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
- Advise senior management on HR best practices and workforce planning.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within a manufacturing company.
- Membership with IHRM (Kenya) is an added advantage.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proven experience in HR generalist functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
