DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain skilled employees.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including manpower planning, job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Partner with departmental heads to identify staffing needs and succession plans.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and develop annual training plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.
  • Support leadership development and employee career growth initiatives.

 Performance Management

  • Implement and manage the performance appraisal system across all departments.
  • Guide managers on setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and handling performance improvement plans (PIPs).
  • Monitor and report on employee performance trends.

 Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues and grievances.
  • Promote a positive work culture and maintain high levels of employee engagement.
  • Advise management on disciplinary matters and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.

 Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Manage payroll inputs, employee benefits, and statutory deductions in compliance with Kenyan regulations.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and support compensation reviews.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and HR documentation.

 Compliance & Labor Law

  • Ensure full compliance with Kenyan labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage labor audits and inspections.

Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards within the manufacturing environment.
  • Work closely with safety officers and management to promote workplace safety.
  • Support implementation of wellness and employee welfare programs.

 HR Reporting & Strategy

  • Prepare HR reports on headcount, turnover, training, and compliance metrics.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy by aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
  • Advise senior management on HR best practices and workforce planning.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within a manufacturing company.
  • Membership with IHRM (Kenya) is an added advantage.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in HR generalist functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
