DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement the hospital’s strategic and operational plans.
- Provide visionary leadership to enhance organizational performance and patient care outcomes.
- Lead the development of annual budgets, business plans, and growth strategies.
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day hospital operations including clinical, support, and administrative functions.
- Ensure efficient workflow, optimized patient journeys, and adherence to service quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in hospital management.
Financial Management
- Manage the hospital’s financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, revenue cycle, and cost control.
- Ensure proper financial reporting, compliance with financial procedures, and prudent resource utilization.
- Monitor performance KPIs and implement corrective actions to ensure financial sustainability.
Human Resource & Leadership
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to departmental heads and staff.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and customer-centric service.
- Oversee recruitment, training, staff welfare, and retention initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure the hospital complies with Kenyan healthcare regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance systems, patient safety protocols, and risk management processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies such as KMPDC, NHIF, NEMA, and other healthcare agencies.
Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with patients, suppliers, insurers, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the hospital in external forums, partnerships, and public relations initiatives.
- Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction and handle escalated concerns professionally.
Infrastructure & Technology Management
- Oversee facility maintenance, equipment procurement, and technological upgrades.
- Ensure hospital infrastructure meets safety, operational, and clinical standards.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Business Management, Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, or any related field
- A Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related) is an added advantage
- Over 10 years of senior management experience in healthcare or hospital administration
- Proven track record in strategic planning, operations management, and organizational leadership
- Strong understanding of the Kenyan healthcare ecosystem, standards, and regulations
