DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical System Design and Implementation:

  • Design, test, and implement electrical control systems that enhance the productivity and efficiency of manufacturing processes.
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit layouts for new equipment or system upgrades.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electrical systems or equipment across the production floor.
  • Lead efforts to resolve electrical failures and faults quickly, preventing disruptions to production.

Automation and Control Systems:

  • Lead the design and integration of automated systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), to streamline manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize PLC-based control systems for improved efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and test new automation processes that improve system performance, reduce energy consumption, and lower production costs.

 Project Management:

  • Manage electrical engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems in new or modified manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, quality assurance, maintenance) to ensure project requirements are met.

Energy Management and Optimization:

  • Analyze energy consumption patterns and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design energy-efficient electrical systems and help implement sustainable practices across the facility.
  • Monitor and maintain the electrical power distribution systems to ensure optimal load balancing and minimal energy wastage.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure electrical systems and installations comply with industry standards, local electrical codes, and safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the department by conducting safety audits and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Lead investigations into electrical-related incidents, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain up-to-date records of electrical systems, including schematics, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting reports.
  • Prepare technical reports, performance analyses, and project status updates for senior management.
  • Document all modifications or upgrades made to electrical systems to ensure traceability and future reference.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in electrical systems, automation, and processes.
  • Propose innovative solutions to reduce downtime, improve production efficiency, and enhance system reliability.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in the steel or plastic industry.
  • Proven experience in designing, testing, and implementing electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of automation, control systems, and electrical maintenance.
