DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management:
- Lead the full lifecycle of marine construction projects including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Ensure projects are delivered within the defined scope, timeline, and budget.
- Review project deliverables and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
Construction Oversight:
- Supervise all onsite and offsite construction activities to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Coordinate with marine engineers, surveyors, and subcontractors for technical execution and sequencing of works.
Team Coordination:
- Direct and manage construction teams, including subcontractors and labor crews.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor performance across various trades.
- Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, contractors, and project team members.
Resource & Inventory Management:
- Select and procure materials, tools, and equipment required for marine works.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage logistics for timely delivery of resources.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports (internal and external).
- Document site activities, project deviations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of project phases and ensure contractual compliance.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
- Address and resolve emerging issues during project execution.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to quality construction standards and techniques.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify work meets approved specifications and regulatory guidelines.
- Uphold safety protocols and promote a zero-incident culture on site.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop project schedules and forecast manpower, equipment, and material needs.
- Plan ahead to anticipate challenges and develop contingency plans.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in marine construction projects (breakwaters, quay walls, dredging, reclamation)
- In-depth knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
- Strong understanding of marine infrastructure design, construction techniques, and regulatory environments
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and teams under pressure
- Proficient in construction software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards
