DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of African dishes, ensuring they meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of menu items.
- Ensure dishes are prepared and presented attractively, maintaining high visual and taste standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
- Monitor portion sizes and waste to maintain cost efficiency.
- Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless operation during service.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff when needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in food preparation.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is used properly and maintained regularly.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field.
- Proven experience in preparing African dishes, with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a busy restaurant setting.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
- Passion for African cuisine and innovation in creating traditional and modern dishes.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
