DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of African dishes, ensuring they meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of menu items.
  • Ensure dishes are prepared and presented attractively, maintaining high visual and taste standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Assist in managing kitchen inventory and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
  • Monitor portion sizes and waste to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless operation during service.
  • Assist in training junior kitchen staff when needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations in food preparation.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is used properly and maintained regularly.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Proven experience in preparing African dishes, with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a busy restaurant setting.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
  • Passion for African cuisine and innovation in creating traditional and modern dishes.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
