DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cash Handling & Transactions:

  • Accurately process cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring all payments are recorded correctly.
  • Ensure all cash is handled securely and according to company procedures, balancing the till at the start and end of shifts.
  • Process refunds, exchanges, and voids, maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions.

Customer Service:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Handle customer complaints and concerns tactfully and effectively, ensuring the best resolution for both the customer and the business.
  • Actively listen to customers and respond promptly to queries related to payments, menu items, or services.
  • Assist customers with gift certificates, loyalty programs, or special promotions when applicable.

Cash Register Maintenance:

  • Maintain the cash register in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition, ensuring ease of use and accuracy.
  • Ensure that all transactions are completed smoothly and without delay, contributing to an efficient checkout process.
  • Monitor and report any issues or malfunctions with the cash register and other equipment.

Sales Support & Reporting:

  • Assist in sales support by keeping track of cash flow and providing necessary documentation to management as needed.
  • Support the management team with daily sales reporting, ensuring all figures are accurate and reflective of transactions made during the shift.
  • Monitor inventory levels for any products or services that are billed through the cashier, communicating with the relevant departments for restocking when necessary.

 Compliance & Security:

  • Adhere to all company policies, particularly those related to cash handling, security, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, particularly those related to financial transactions and customer privacy.
  • Prevent fraud by verifying identification for credit card transactions and monitoring for suspicious activity.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members, including waitstaff, kitchen staff, and managers, to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new cashier staff or junior team members, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that customer orders are processed and billed correctly.

 Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, receipts, and other financial documents for management review.
  • Prepare daily cash reports and hand them over to the accounting department at the end of the shift.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial documents for audits when requested.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • CPA 2 and above
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership potential and a high level of professionalism.
  • Presentable appearance with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash responsibly and work in a fast-paced environment.
