DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting:
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
 - Prepare and process payments, receipts, and adjustments in accordance with accounting policies.
 - Prepare and review bank reconciliations and ensure the correct allocation of funds.
 
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
 - Handle patient billing and ensure that payments are collected on time.
 - Monitor aging accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
 
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
 - Provide detailed financial statements to senior management for analysis.
 - Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for the finance department.
 
Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and hospital policies.
 - Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits.
 - Assist in preparing financial statements for auditing purposes.
 
Cost Control:
- Monitor hospital expenses and highlight areas for cost savings.
 - Help in identifying inefficiencies and provide recommendations for cost control within the hospital.
 
Other Financial Operations:
- Assist with the preparation of financial documents for procurement and payment processes.
 - Participate in payroll processing and ensure that all related financial aspects are handled.
 - Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the finance manager.
 
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
 - A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in the finance department of a hospital or healthcare facility
 - In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and hospital-specific accounting practices
 - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems)
 - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
 - Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
