DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Supervision and Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and according to specifications.
- Develop and manage project schedules, setting realistic deadlines for each phase of the project.
- Ensure the work progresses according to plan, adjusting schedules as necessary to mitigate delays and unforeseen challenges.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a diverse team of site workers, subcontractors, and other personnel, providing clear direction and ensuring effective collaboration.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project updates, address issues, and reinforce safety and quality expectations.
- Act as a point of contact for site workers, resolving conflicts, managing work performance, and promoting a productive work environment.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Monitor and enforce strict adherence to quality control standards to ensure the work meets or exceeds project specifications and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations, including health and safety standards, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
- Regularly conduct inspections of the site to identify issues that may affect the quality, safety, or progress of construction.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the project budget, ensuring that all activities are performed within allocated financial resources.
- Oversee material procurement, ensuring that resources and supplies are delivered to the site on time and within budget.
- Track project expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure proper financial documentation for reporting purposes.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary liaison between the client, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all parties are aligned and informed.
- Provide regular updates on project status, including progress reports, risk assessments, and any delays or issues.
- Address concerns raised by clients and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective resolution of any issues that may arise.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
- Lead and enforce a strict safety culture on-site, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks to workers, equipment, and the public.
- Monitor environmental impacts and ensure the project follows sustainable practices and reduces its ecological footprint wherever possible.
Problem-Solving and Risk Management:
- Anticipate, identify, and address any potential issues or risks that could impact the progress or success of the project, including technical, operational, and logistical challenges.
- Implement corrective actions quickly and efficiently to minimize delays or cost overruns.
- Lead the resolution of disputes and conflicts related to the construction process, whether between workers, contractors, or external parties.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all construction activities, including daily logs, work progress, site inspections, and any incidents.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management, outlining progress, challenges, and key project milestones.
- Ensure that all project-related documentation is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements and can be accessed for future reference.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing large-scale construction projects
- Certification in Site Management is mandatory
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
- Proven ability to handle complex projects and work under pressure
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
