DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with loan borrowers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to assess their needs, providing tailored financial solutions where necessary.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the bank and borrowers, facilitating communication and resolving any issues that may arise.

Loan Monitoring and Management

  • Manage the loan portfolio by ensuring timely payments and follow-ups on overdue accounts.
  • Assess loan performance, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective measures to mitigate default risks.
  • Review and process loan applications, ensuring they comply with the bank’s lending policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the credit department to ensure efficient loan processing and approval.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional banking products and services to loan borrowers.
  • Drive business growth by attracting new clients and expanding the bank’s loan portfolio.
  • Engage in client retention strategies to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on client activities, loan portfolio status, and other relevant metrics.
  • Document client interactions and maintain comprehensive client profiles for future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., credit, risk, and operations) to deliver seamless services to clients.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members when necessary.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in client events, product launches, and promotional activities.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Conduct regular risk assessments of client portfolios to ensure they meet the bank’s standards.
  • Ensure that all loan agreements and client interactions comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve risk management procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in a Business-related field (e.g., Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Relationship Manager, preferably in a Microfinance, SACCO, or banking environment
  • Proven experience in managing loan portfolios, handling loan applications, and ensuring clients’ financial needs are met
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously while ensuring high standards of customer service
