DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within client organizations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each key account’s business objectives, challenges, and needs to provide tailored solutions and value-added services.
- Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by addressing issues, providing support, and ensuring a smooth experience throughout the sales process.
Sales Growth & Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and market share within assigned accounts, identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and new product introductions.
- Monitor sales performance and customer trends to identify opportunities for growth, making recommendations for product or service improvements to increase sales volume.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement sales campaigns and promotions specifically designed for key accounts.
Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
- Conduct regular market research to stay informed about trends, competitive products, and changes in the Modern Trade sector.
- Analyze competitor activity and market conditions to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative in addressing client needs.
- Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams based on insights gathered from key accounts and market trends.
Client Presentations & Proposals:
- Prepare and present proposals, product presentations, and reports to key accounts, ensuring they understand the benefits of our products and services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key accounts to secure long-term, profitable relationships.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create customized promotional materials and campaigns for key clients.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
- Track and analyze sales performance against targets and provide regular updates to management on key account performance.
- Prepare sales forecasts and maintain accurate records of account activity, ensuring that client data is up-to-date in the CRM system.
- Evaluate and report on the success of marketing initiatives and sales strategies, making adjustments as needed to meet objectives.
Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution:
- Address and resolve any concerns or issues raised by key accounts, ensuring that problems are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., logistics, operations) to resolve operational challenges that may affect key account satisfaction.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the internal team, ensuring that client expectations are met and any issues are swiftly dealt with.
Contract & Pricing Negotiations:
- Lead the negotiation process for contract renewals, new agreements, and pricing structures, ensuring the company’s interests are aligned with the client’s expectations.
- Monitor the performance of contracts and make recommendations for adjustments based on account needs or market conditions.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Modern Trade, key account management, or sales within the FMCG or related industries
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and use insights to drive decisions and sales strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle client issues diplomatically.
- Proficient in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of Modern Trade dynamics, including the retail environment and trade marketing.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to sales and relationship management.
