DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient running of all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all hotel functions to ensure consistency and quality service.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing complaints, requests, and special needs in a timely and professional manner.
Staff Management & Development:
- Lead, train, and supervise hotel staff to ensure high levels of customer service and team productivity.
- Create a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and professional growth.
- Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Hire, train, and onboard new staff members as required, ensuring they align with the hotel’s standards.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the hotel’s budget, ensuring financial goals and targets are met.
- Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure profitability and efficient use of resources.
- Review financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, to track performance and implement necessary improvements.
- Handle pricing strategies, room rates, and special offers to maximize revenue.
Guest Relations & Service Excellence:
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience by overseeing guest services, including check-in/check-out, room cleanliness, food and beverage quality, and other amenities.
- Address guest concerns and feedback promptly to resolve any issues and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Implement guest retention strategies to encourage repeat visits and positive reviews.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase the hotel’s visibility and occupancy rates.
- Collaborate with local tourism agencies and businesses to promote the hotel to visitors.
- Oversee online marketing efforts, including social media, websites, and booking platforms, ensuring the hotel maintains a strong online presence.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the hotel complies with local regulations, including health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Implement and monitor health and safety procedures to protect both staff and guests.
- Regularly inspect the premises to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance.
Facility Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, including guest rooms, public areas, and facilities.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure that repairs and upgrades are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare and submit reports on hotel performance, staff efficiency, guest feedback, and financial outcomes to hotel ownership or senior management.
- Maintain effective communication between departments to ensure operational needs are met.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
- In-depth knowledge of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage management.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Protel), Microsoft Office, and other business tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
