DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation & Commissioning
- Install electrical wiring, control panels, and motor connections for water pumps.
- Set up and configure pump automation systems.
- Conduct system tests to verify proper operation before handover.
- Ensure all installations meet electrical codes and safety standards.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems for water pumps.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in motors, control circuits, transformers, and power distribution units.
- Replace faulty components such as capacitors, relays, fuses, and circuit breakers.
- Conduct insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and voltage analysis.
Troubleshooting & System Optimization
- Analyze performance data and troubleshoot pump efficiency issues.
- Identify causes of overloading, overheating, or electrical failures in pumps.
- Adjust settings and calibrate control systems to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineers to implement energy-saving solutions.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow electrical safety procedures to prevent hazards.
- Ensure all repairs and modifications comply with local electrical codes.
- Keep detailed records of all work, inspections, and safety checks.
- Report and mitigate potential electrical risks in the workplace.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, issues encountered, and solutions applied.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, failures, and necessary upgrades.
- Assist in developing maintenance schedules and recommend system improvements.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control panels
- Experience with pump control systems, VFDs, and motor starters is an advantage
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and codes
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
