DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install electrical wiring, control panels, and motor connections for water pumps.
  • Set up and configure pump automation systems.
  • Conduct system tests to verify proper operation before handover.
  • Ensure all installations meet electrical codes and safety standards.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems for water pumps.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in motors, control circuits, transformers, and power distribution units.
  • Replace faulty components such as capacitors, relays, fuses, and circuit breakers.
  • Conduct insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and voltage analysis.

Troubleshooting & System Optimization

  • Analyze performance data and troubleshoot pump efficiency issues.
  • Identify causes of overloading, overheating, or electrical failures in pumps.
  • Adjust settings and calibrate control systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement energy-saving solutions.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow electrical safety procedures to prevent hazards.
  • Ensure all repairs and modifications comply with local electrical codes.
  • Keep detailed records of all work, inspections, and safety checks.
  • Report and mitigate potential electrical risks in the workplace.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, issues encountered, and solutions applied.
  • Prepare reports on equipment performance, failures, and necessary upgrades.
  • Assist in developing maintenance schedules and recommend system improvements.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control panels
  • Experience with pump control systems, VFDs, and motor starters is an advantage
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and codes
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
