DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the logistics sector, focusing on warehousing, clearing & forwarding, and CFS services.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Proactively engage in networking, industry events, and conferences to generate new leads.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to stay ahead of industry developments.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Manage and nurture relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide tailored logistics solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Address and resolve client queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Market Analysis & Reporting:

  • Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify opportunities for business expansion.
  • Prepare detailed reports on market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights to enhance business growth.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to ensure the company’s services are effectively promoted and delivered.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop pricing strategies, promotions, and other business initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the company.

Contract Negotiations & Proposal Development:

  • Lead contract negotiations with potential clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Develop proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met in terms of service delivery and client satisfaction.

Administrative & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and contracts.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree or higher in a Business-related course
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Development Manager or in Sales and Marketing within a busy logistics environment
  • Strong understanding of the logistics industry, including warehousing, clearing & forwarding, and CFS services
  • Proven ability to generate new business and manage client relationships effectively
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
