DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Sales:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the logistics sector, focusing on warehousing, clearing & forwarding, and CFS services.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Proactively engage in networking, industry events, and conferences to generate new leads.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to stay ahead of industry developments.
Client Relationship Management:
- Manage and nurture relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Provide tailored logistics solutions to meet client requirements.
- Address and resolve client queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify opportunities for business expansion.
- Prepare detailed reports on market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights to enhance business growth.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to ensure the company’s services are effectively promoted and delivered.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop pricing strategies, promotions, and other business initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the company.
Contract Negotiations & Proposal Development:
- Lead contract negotiations with potential clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
- Develop proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met in terms of service delivery and client satisfaction.
Administrative & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and contracts.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and other documentation as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree or higher in a Business-related course
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Development Manager or in Sales and Marketing within a busy logistics environment
- Strong understanding of the logistics industry, including warehousing, clearing & forwarding, and CFS services
- Proven ability to generate new business and manage client relationships effectively
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
