AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair electrical issues in vehicles including lighting systems, battery systems, alarms, infotainment systems, and wiring.
• Perform electrical installations such as vehicle tracking devices, dash cameras, sensors, and accessories.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and conduct system scans.
• Interpret and work from electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete job cards for all work performed.
• Carry out routine maintenance on vehicle electrical systems to ensure reliability.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures during all repairs and installations.
• Collaborate with mechanics and other technicians to provide holistic vehicle servicing.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in automotive electrical technology.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in automotive electrical maintenance and installation.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, circuits, and components
• Proficient in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, scan tools, and diagnostic software
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
