DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Program Design & Development

  • Conduct training needs assessments across departments to identify skill gaps in sales, customer service, and retail operations.
  • Design structured training curricula tailored to different staff levels, including onboarding programs for new hires and advanced sessions for experienced staff.
  • Create training materials such as manuals, presentations, interactive exercises, role-plays, and e-learning content to ensure diverse learning methods.
  • Regularly update training content to reflect new products, services, industry trends, and changes in company protocols.

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Conduct engaging in-person and virtual training sessions for retail staff, ensuring learning objectives are met.
  • Use role-play, case studies, and simulations to help staff practice real-life sales and customer service scenarios.
  • Facilitate workshops to enhance soft skills, including communication, conflict resolution, upselling, and cross-selling.
  • Motivate staff to embrace learning and translate training into improved performance.

Performance Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Implement assessment tools (quizzes, tests, observation checklists) to evaluate knowledge retention and skill application.
  • Track staff performance pre- and post-training to measure training effectiveness and ROI.
  • Provide individualized coaching to employees who require additional support to meet performance standards.
  • Collaborate with store managers and supervisors to monitor ongoing staff development.

 

 

Sales & Customer Service Enhancement

  • Identify sales performance gaps and develop strategies to improve conversion rates, upselling, and customer engagement.
  • Train staff on effective customer service practices, including handling complaints, building rapport, and delivering personalized experiences.
  • Ensure that all staff consistently adhere to company protocols and service standards.

Strategic Support & Collaboration

  • Work closely with management to align training initiatives with company goals and business growth objectives.
  • Provide feedback on staffing, sales trends, and operational challenges to inform management decisions.
  • Participate in staff performance reviews, promotions, and succession planning by providing insights from training outcomes.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive training records, attendance logs, and performance reports.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on training impact, including improvements in sales metrics, customer satisfaction scores, and staff competency levels.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement of training processes and programs.

Industry Knowledge & Continuous Learning

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, competitor strategies, and emerging trends in retail, sales, and customer service.
  • Introduce innovative training techniques and tools to enhance learning experiences.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on retail sales, customer experience, and staff development.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in training, with a focus on sales, marketing, or retail management
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful training sessions and workshops
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, customer service standards, and sales strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve targets
