JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Control Assistant is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance Manager in monitoring and improving the quality of products and processes within the juice production facility. This role involves ensuring all production meets internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Development

  • Participate in the development and formulation of new juice products.
  • Support laboratory trials and scaling of formulations for full production.
  • Conduct quality testing on new products to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Production Support

  • Work closely with the maintenance team to report and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly.
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure smooth functioning during production.
  • Ensure machinery is properly cleaned and sanitized after every production run in accordance with hygiene standards.
  • Verify that machines produce the desired output in terms of volume, consistency, and quality.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor.
  • Perform random quality checks on production lines to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot quality-related issues in real-time to prevent production delays.

Training and Capacity Building

  • Train new and existing staff on quality assurance procedures, hygiene standards, and safe machine handling.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality within the production team.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare and maintain production and quality control records.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal reports for the QA Manager.
  • Ensure all operations align with company policies and industry standards.

General Duties

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the QA Manager or Management from time to time.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree/Diploma in Food Science and Technology
  • Additional training in Quality Control, Food Safety, Standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP), and Auditing is an added advantage
  • 2–3 years of progressive experience in a quality control or production support role
  • Experience specifically in a beverage processing or juice manufacturing plant
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of GMP, hygiene, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use quality systems and software
