DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Setup

  • Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines in consultation with senior management and clients.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures (WBS), resource schedules, and budget forecasts.

Site Coordination & Supervision

  • Oversee daily operations at construction sites to ensure work is executed as per drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
  • Supervise site engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and other on-site staff to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of materials, tools, and machinery.

 Budget and Cost Management

  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Prepare cost estimates, track variations, and prevent cost overruns by proactively managing resources.
  • Approve procurement requests and verify supplier invoices against delivery and contract terms.

Timeline and Milestone Tracking

  • Establish critical project milestones and track progress using Gantt charts or project management software.
  • Identify potential delays early and initiate corrective action to keep the project on track.
  • Update schedules regularly and communicate changes to all stakeholders.

Quality Control and Assurance

  • Ensure all construction work adheres to quality standards, design specifications, and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and follow up on non-conformities.
  • Liaise with quality inspectors, architects, and consultants to resolve technical or structural issues.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

  • Implement and enforce safety procedures on site in accordance with OSHA and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, toolbox talks, and training for site personnel.
  • Investigate and report incidents or accidents, taking corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Team Leadership & Human Resource Management

  • Manage and evaluate performance of site teams, providing guidance, training, and motivation as needed.
  • Allocate manpower and assign tasks according to project priorities.
  • Resolve conflicts and promote a collaborative team environment.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, suppliers, and senior management.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly project status reports, including progress updates, financial reports, and risk assessments.
  • Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and site visits with stakeholders.

 Contract & Document Management

  • Review and understand project contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of project documentation including contracts, approvals, correspondence, and technical data.
  • Coordinate timely submission of drawings, RFIs (Request for Information), and approvals.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

  • Identify risks that could affect project success and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Respond quickly to unforeseen challenges such as design changes, material shortages, or weather disruptions.
  • Make critical decisions on-site to maintain workflow and safety without compromising quality.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Building & Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing construction or infrastructure projects from start to finish
  • Hands-on experience in handling teams, site operations, and third-party coordination
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Trello, or similar software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to change
