JOB SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a highly experienced digital marketing professional who is a self-starter, brand builder, and passionate about creating impactful marketing journeys. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scaling e-commerce fashion brands—particularly within Kenya—through strategic, well-executed integrated campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and sales. They must possess a deep understanding of the Kenyan fashion consumer, with both the creative flair and commercial acumen to craft content and campaigns that resonate. Having built online audiences, launched successful campaigns, and driven measurable growth, you should be a hands-on practitioner who has shaped a fashion brand’s digital presence from the ground up. Experience with leading Kenyan apparel or footwear brands and demonstrable success in elevating their online presence is essential. As a Marketing Executive you will be tasked with promoting the company’s brand and products to clients both locally and internationally. With the support of the business’ director, you shall develop and execute a holistic marketing strategy that will see to the utilisation of various techniques and channels to create and deliver marketing campaigns year-round; campaigns that are aimed at increasing awareness of the company’s brand, driving engagement online, and ensuring sales targets are met both in-store and online.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Planning

  • Develop and, in conjunction with the director, review marketing strategies for the broader business and particular product lines 
  • In conjunction with the business director, develop and deploy a marketing budget for
  • maximum efficiency & effectiveness
  • Develop and support the development of integrated marketing and channel plans that are linked to meeting objectives within the budget allocated, including for new product or business development
  • Develop a stewardship journey for each product line, in consideration of broader brand building objectives
  • Develop innovative ideas & tools which support the sales team’s efforts at optimising the customer experience both in-store and online
  • Use customer insight, evaluation reports, social media campaign dashboards and website metrics to support clear targeting and execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring the marketing mix is tailored accordingly
  • Develop and oversee the social media content plan, along with following social media trends

Marketing Execution  

  • You must own the customer engagement journey—from first click to repeat sale. You shall own the customer engagement journey and be responsible not just for attracting buyers, but also for nurturing them into loyal, repeat customers. You shall be accountable for all digital content marketing initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, and leads that deliver sales and customer retention. This includes:
  • Managing our Shopify store: You shall be tasked with managing the business e-commerce site by utilising its content management system to manage inventory, publish content, analyse website traffic, asses user engagement metrics and sales. You shall:

o Drive the execution of SEO and SEM campaigns for the business e-commerce site

o Managing product uploads, stock levels, SEO optimization, UX recommendations

  • Developing, managing and executing 360-degree marketing strategies across digital platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), WhatsApp, YouTube and email.

o You shall deliver compelling marketing campaigns which meet agreed-upon

objectives; utilising owned, paid, and earned media to market our products in line with our brand values.

  • Executing a monthly marketing calendar that syncs with product drops, events, and promotions. This means that you shall:

o Plan, design and publish content that aligns with campaigns and seasonal storytelling. 

o Maintain a content calendar and create original content for business’s social media posts, email marketing, our blog, web copy, presentations, training materials, flyers, intranet, and other assets as needed

o Deliver innovative and creative assets for all channels, which lead to the achievement of an outstanding brand experience and help us stand out in the marketplace

  • Manage advertising budgets and social media boosting to ensure ROI. You shall:

o Manage the social media advertising budget, and make strategy recommendations

o Track and analyse campaign results—understand what’s working, what’s not, and

  • adapt accordingly.
  • Recruit, manage and collaborate with contracted personnel to enable the achievement of campaign objectives for business’s product lines and the brand overall. This means that you shall:

o Lead and coordinate all creative assets: photographers, videographers, editors, stylists,

  • influencers/ content creators, models, printing professionals etc
  • o Develop their work plan and ensure all campaign objectives are met
  • Content & Community. Your role will require you to:

o Film and share behind-the-scenes content from our workshop, customer fittings,

photo shoots and retail store.

o Build and engage a community of loyal brand followers and ambassadors.

o Monitor trends and jump on relevant moments to keep our content fresh and relevant.

o Document our journey in a way that’s authentic, consistent, and brand-aligned.

Marketing Analysis and Evaluation

  • Researching on, and analysing demographics, sales figures, market trends and competitor behaviour in order to identify opportunities to serve our existing clients better and expand our customer base
  • Conducting research on leading players in our industry of focus and relevant markets for the purposes of benchmarking
  • Monitor ongoing campaign performance against objectives
  • Critically evaluate campaign success and make recommendations for future improvements.
  • Provide timely, clear reporting throughout the year to the director and feed into evaluation processes

In-Store Sales & Customer Experience

  • Experience working with creatives (models, photographers, videographers, editors,

influencers) and coordinating productions.

  • Serve customers directly in our retail store and use first-hand insight to inform your
  • marketing ideas.
  • Collect, document and report on customer feedback, preferences and behaviours.
  • Collaborate with the Director to translate customer needs into product and campaign
  •  
  • Represent the business with grace, knowledge and flair—online and offline.
  • Assist with visual merchandising and in-store promotions when required.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field
  • A Certificate or Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing
  • Marketing experience with a good understanding of the marketing mix, delivery, measurements and best practice
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, and customer facing roles.
  • Must be comfortable selling in person and understanding retail customer behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of Shopify, social media platforms, Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite.
  • Excellent writing, photography, editing and visual storytelling skills.
  • Hands-on experience with content creation, campaign tracking, paid ads, and email marketing.
  • Experience working with creatives (models, photographers, videographers, editors, influencers) and coordinating productions.
  • Comprehension of marketing/ segmentation strategy, messaging & competitive analysis.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to understand and exhibit deep understanding of various marketing and campaign strategies
  • A track record of understanding ways to consolidate internal client needs and tailor and distribute content for different audiences, platforms as per business and marketing objectives
  • Strong understanding of digital activation and the ability to write social and web copy content
  • Proven expertise in marketing analytics. Analytical, problem-solving, and data skills with the ability to interpret and simplify complex data sets for others and communicate details or summarise data trends and key themes
  • Comprehension of lead models and funnel analysis, Search Engine Optimization best practices, principles and current trends.
  • Strong understanding of data and tagging implementations and its impact on analytical deliverables and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Canva and Photoshop
