DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, washroom, and dining areas.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes after use.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
- Properly store and dispose of waste materials and food scraps.
Food Storage & Organization:
- Assist with organizing food storage areas, including moving food items from storage to the kitchen.
- Help with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling potatoes and vegetables, as required by the kitchen team.
Dishwashing and Equipment Maintenance:
- Wash, sanitize, and store all kitchen utensils, dishes, and cooking equipment.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the dishwashing area.
Supporting Food Preparation:
- Assist chefs and cooks with food prep tasks, including cutting, washing, and organizing ingredients.
- Follow instructions from the kitchen team to prepare basic food items as required.
Other Duties:
- Assist the team with any ad-hoc tasks or duties as requested by the kitchen manager or chefs.
- Help maintain a smooth flow of kitchen operations and support the team as needed.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Prior experience in kitchen stewarding or similar roles is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
