DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning and Sanitation:

  • Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, washroom, and dining areas.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes after use.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Properly store and dispose of waste materials and food scraps.

Food Storage & Organization:

  • Assist with organizing food storage areas, including moving food items from storage to the kitchen.
  • Help with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling potatoes and vegetables, as required by the kitchen team.

Dishwashing and Equipment Maintenance:

  • Wash, sanitize, and store all kitchen utensils, dishes, and cooking equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the dishwashing area.

Supporting Food Preparation:

  • Assist chefs and cooks with food prep tasks, including cutting, washing, and organizing ingredients.
  • Follow instructions from the kitchen team to prepare basic food items as required.

Other Duties:

  • Assist the team with any ad-hoc tasks or duties as requested by the kitchen manager or chefs.
  • Help maintain a smooth flow of kitchen operations and support the team as needed.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Prior experience in kitchen stewarding or similar roles is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
