DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Strategy & Policy Development
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Review and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws and best practices.
- Advise senior management on HR planning, organizational design, and workforce development.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes: job postings, interviews, shortlisting, background checks, and offer letters.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires to promote engagement and retention.
- Maintain and update job descriptions for all positions.
Performance Management
- Implement and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Support line managers in setting KPIs, evaluating employee performance, and conducting performance reviews.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate training and development initiatives.
Employee Relations & Welfare
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary issues.
- Foster a healthy and inclusive work environment that promotes mutual respect and productivity.
- Plan and implement staff welfare initiatives, team-building activities, and employee engagement programs.
Legal Compliance & Records Management
- Ensure compliance with all Kenyan labor laws, statutory deductions (SHIF, NSSF, PAYE), and employment standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.
- Prepare HR-related reports for internal and external use, including audits and regulatory bodies.
HRIS and Administrative Oversight
- Manage and optimize the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for efficient data management.
- Generate HR metrics and reports (turnover, absenteeism, training hours, etc.).
- Oversee administrative staff and ensure HR documentation and filing systems are up to date.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of 5 years progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial
- Certified HR Professional (e.g., CHRP-K) is an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, HR best practices, and statutory regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
