DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals as directed by the Head Cook or Kitchen Supervisor
- Wash, peel, chop, and cut food ingredients using basic kitchen tools
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards in food preparation, storage, and serving
- Serve food portions in line with dietary and portion control guidelines
- Assist in the reception and proper storage of food supplies and kitchen inventory
- Support the setup and clearing of the dining area before and after meals
- Adhere to the school's meal schedules and kitchen procedures
- Dispose of waste appropriately and assist in maintaining a clean waste management process
- Perform any other kitchen-related duties as assigned
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Certification in Catering, Food Handling, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (e.g., kitchen assistant, cook helper)
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Prior experience in a school kitchen or institutional setting is an added advantage
- Understanding of food hygiene, personal cleanliness, and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions precisely
