DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals as directed by the Head Cook or Kitchen Supervisor
  • Wash, peel, chop, and cut food ingredients using basic kitchen tools
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards in food preparation, storage, and serving
  • Serve food portions in line with dietary and portion control guidelines
  • Assist in the reception and proper storage of food supplies and kitchen inventory
  • Support the setup and clearing of the dining area before and after meals
  • Adhere to the school's meal schedules and kitchen procedures
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and assist in maintaining a clean waste management process
  • Perform any other kitchen-related duties as assigned

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Certification in Catering, Food Handling, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (e.g., kitchen assistant, cook helper)
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • Prior experience in a school kitchen or institutional setting is an added advantage
  • Understanding of food hygiene, personal cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions precisely
