COOK CUM KITCHEN STEWARD

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation & Cooking:

• Assist in food preparation, including chopping, peeling vegetables (e.g., peeling potatoes), and preparing ingredients as guided by the chefs.
• Cook food items according to recipes and menu specifications under the direction of the head chef.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality.

 Kitchen Steward Duties:

• Assist with cleanliness in the kitchen and washroom areas, including cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Assist in washing, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools after use.
• Ensure the kitchen is stocked and organized, including assisting with the storage of food and supplies.

Assisting with Storage & Inventory:

• Help move food items and supplies from storage areas to the kitchen.
• Assist in checking stock levels and replenishing supplies.

Supporting the Team:

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff in preparing meals during peak hours.
• Follow instructions from chefs to ensure food preparation is in line with restaurant standards.
• Help with other tasks as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene:

• Ensure that kitchen and work areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, including proper storage and handling of food.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Proven experience as a cook or kitchen steward, with knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
