DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process customer purchases efficiently using POS systems
  • Receive payments in cash, M-Pesa, and other forms
  • Issue receipts, invoices, and credit notes as required
  • Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Handle customer queries and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Prepare delivery and dispatch documents
  • Coordinate the dispatch of goods with drivers and logistics personnel
  • Ensure orders are packed and delivered accurately and on time
  • Update inventory systems with outgoing goods
  • Track and report on delivery and dispatch status
  • Maintain updated records of transactions, stock movements, and returns
  • Assist with monthly stock takes and reconciliations
  • Generate basic accounting and inventory reports when required
  • Support office administrative tasks as delegated

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Accounting, or any related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a hardware store or fast-paced retail setting
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and/or Dispatch Software
  • Familiarity with basic accounting procedures and inventory management systems
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
