DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
- Monitor company cash flow, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with audit preparation and implementation of recommendations.
- Utilize Tally accounting software for daily financial entries, ledger maintenance, and report generation.
- Support budget preparation and expenditure monitoring to ensure effective cost control.
- Reconcile ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and ensure operational alignment with budgetary controls.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA or ACCA is a must
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in an accounting role, preferably within a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Proficient in Tally ERP accounting software
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian financial regulations and tax laws
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
